Bling, massages and theater for a memorable time in Elizabeth City in February

Bling Valentine's Blog

Around Valentine’s Day, rings and bling are top of mind but sometimes finding that special piece can be a challenge. You’re only limited by your imagination at Eclectic Jewelry (513 E. Fearing St.; 252-331-2770). Bring your own jewelry design to life, in collaboration with owner Maria George, to create a one-of-a-kind piece from start to finish. Or re-design and re-purpose a family heirloom for the perfect, unique bauble. The store also offers a wide selection of contemporary pieces for purchase that have been designed by George.

With its large collection of estate jewelry, a visit to Coppersmith Antiques & Auction Co. (123 S. Hughes Blvd.; 252-331-5814), is certain to temp and delight. They say diamonds are a girl’s best friend but so are the emeralds, pearls, rubies and blue topaz in Coppersmith’s display cases. Owners Rick and Jennifer Ladich, with their wealth of knowledge, amaze with the details they provide about the provenance of their pieces and they are also happy to search for items for customers.

After you’ve shopped, wind down with a couple’s massage—or one with your BFF—at Anew U Massage Therapy (425 B McArthur Dr.; 252-722-3879). Book one in the same room and together, the two of you can enjoy a relaxing, 60-minute therapeutic treatment where stress and strain are released, muscle soreness and stiffness are reduced, and overall good health promoted. Appointment necessary.

After dinner, take in a show at the Maguire Theatre at Arts of the Albemarle (516 E. Main St.; 252-338-6455) because love is in the air…or is it?  The Center Players, the award-winning youth theater group, delve into the ups and downs of love in We Go Together!, a cabaret-style show filled with energetic songs, dance, and monologues that takes the audience on a delightful trip down memory lane and leaves it hopeful about coupledom. Performances are at 7:00 pm on Friday, February 15 and Saturday, February 16. All tickets are $15 and can be purchased by phone, in person, or at AoA’s website.
